What is OLIDIA ?
OLIDIA is an injectable dermal filler based on poly L-lactic acid. This filler has been developed to fill in the lost volume on the face by stimulating collagenases. The main ingredient of Olidia is PLLA. PLLA has been used worldwide for over 20 years in medical devices, e.g. for dissolving sutures.
Olidia is made of synthetic materials, so allergy testing is unnecessary before the procedure.
Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer. PLLA particles stimulate fibroblasts to produce collagen, while the newly formed collagen creates volume. After administration, PLLA is absorbed and degraded, thereby eventually undergoing respiration as Co2.
PLLA is the most durable dermal filler of all currently FDA-approved biodegradable products. In 80% of respondents, it lasted for about 24 months.
